Study Finds that Breastfeeding is Associated with a Reduced Risk of MS for Mothers

In a California study of 397 women with multiple sclerosis and 433 women without MS, women who had breastfed one or more children for 15 months or more were less likely to develop MS than women who had not, or who only breastfed for a few months. The researchers point out that this identifies an association, and does not mean that breastfeeding is responsible for reducing the risk of MS.
